This is standard mode. You only start the tool and work with user-friendly window's system (GUI). Bellow are list of parameters in start window of "KC's MailExtractor".
Button "Start file:" will help you to choose a start fail, what contains interested sites. You may type the path and the name of file in right-place filed "Start file".
Radiobuttons: "KC's MailExtractor" may use '*.HTM' files or text files with list of sites (URLs), created with text editor. You must choose type of file. Please, use radiobuttons "HTML file" for '*.HTM' or '*.HTML' files and "List of sites" for lists.
WARNING ! "KC's MailExtractor" transform your '*.HTML' file to list of sites. Example: you choose file "wooltraders.html", what contains Web page from "Yahoo!" search engine. You start "KC's MailExtractor" without connection to Internet, press button "Start file:" and choose your file, click "HTML file" radiobutton and press "Extract" button. Results: first, you will see alert "No connection"; second, your "wooltraders.html" file are turned to list of sites. You may use text editor such as Window's "Notepad" and edit the list. But, if you choose list file and click "HTML file" radiobutton, your file will be erased. Moral: always use copies.
"Output file:" filed: You must type path and name of file, when "KC's MailExtractor" will put extracted mails. You may use new file too, the tool will create it. Default "KC's MailExtractor" offer you file "Mails.txt".
"Levels" filed: This is mark for "depth" of extracting. Default value is "2". No max value - you can choose any depth. Remember, the URL in your *.HTML-file (or in site's list) is level "0", therefore "2" will extract levels "0", "1" and "2". Level "1" are these pages, what are listed in Level "0" page. Level "2" are these pages, what are listed in Level "1" pages.
"Extracted mails" filed: This is max number of new extracted mails, saved in your Output file for this session. No max value, but "1 000 000 000" is practically "infinity". Default value is "1000".
The parameters are such as first mode, but now must type it in command line (for WINDOWS and UNIX users). Example (for Win95/98/NT):
java KCsMailextractor StartFile OutFile Type [Levels] [MaxNumber]
First three are required. If fourth and fifth parameter not found, the program will use default values.
Here "Type" parameter are used instead radiobuttons. You may use "1" for "HTML files" or any other number for "List of sites".
You may use this mode to call "KC's MailExtractor" from another program or batch file. Now are active only "Alert" messages and final statistic.
If will be new version, there should be such features:
- Extracting one site only. You may type URL in "Start File:" fields.
- LOG file. You may save session for analyze.
- Monitor and On-Line-Statistic.
